Barbara Osborne,

MS, BSN, RN, CCM

 

Ms. Barbara Osborne obtained her Diploma as a Professional Registered Nurse in 1985, and Midwifery Certification in 1988 both from the Georgetown School of Nursing in Georgetown Guyana. Ms. Osborne obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Adelphi University in New York City and went on to obtain a Master’s of Science Degree in Organizational leadership.

As a Registered Nurse for the past 39 years, Ms. Osborne has worked in several areas of nursing specialties including: Pediatric and Geriatric Nursing, specializing in ventilator dependent children; traumatic brain injury and home care nursing. Worked as a preceptor for new hires and new graduates. She was an acknowledged resource for parents and families in Ventilator and tracheostomy care. Worked in home care as a Nurse Consult and Certified Case Manager for geriatric patients.

Currently works for the New York City Health + Hospital as a Certified Accountable Care Manager in a dual role; a Care Manager in the emergency department and as an inpatient Case Manager within the Utilization Review/Case Management Department. Ms. Osborne loves community work and was the past president of Guyanese Nurses Association of America Inc. (GNAA Inc.).
