PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:


Greetings:

It is indeed a privilege to serve as the president of Caribbean American Nurses Association Inc. (CANA Inc.) and as an ambassador for the Caribbean diaspora here in the United States and beyond. I have been a member of CANA Inc. through Guyana Nurses Association of America Inc. (GNAA Inc.) for over 25 years and active member of CANA for the past 15 years and served as the past Vice President for 4 of those years. My goal during this presidency is to expand our organization to welcome all nurses of Caribbean heritage. I am confident with the support and encouragement of my predecessors and the executives of CANA my presidency will be a success. I would like to use this platform to engage our nurse leaders based on CANA’s vision to promote community involvement and community affairs through education, volunteerism and enhance our activism among our NNAs in the United States, Guyana and the Caribbean at large.

    CANA has collaborated with community leaders to identify the healthcare needs of the communities and has participated in health fairs, educational forums such as: Domestic Violence; Cardiovascular Disease prevention, Blood Pressure screening, HIV/AIDS education, Diabetes prevention and management and Cancer screening among others.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 

The Executive Committee comprises of Nurses from the different regions of the Caribbean
